Wondering how to get long hair naturally? How do you grow your hair? In this video Rachelle and Sam give you 10 tips to get those long locks naturally!
Step 1: Practice Good Hair Habits
Daily treatment to your hair; Don't brush it too hard; Harsh chemicals; and High heat; Putting your hair up when wet; Brushing hair when wet etc. Avoiding such practices can help keep your hair healthy
Step 2: Maintain a Healthy, Balanced Diet
What you put in your body reflects on what is on the outside including your hair. Protein is important in ensuring healthy hair growth.
Step 3: Take Fish Oil
Fish oil is a source of protein and because of this, it will help your hair grow and stay strong. It nourishes the hair follicle which allows your hair to grow faster and longer
Step 4: Trim Your Hair Often
Generally, most people make the mistake of going too long without trimming their hair because they want it to grow. When you don't cut/trim your hair for a long time, you develop split ends. The ends can continue to split further up into the strand of the hair and eventually breaks off. Because this is happening, you never get to see the growth because your hair continuously breaks.
Step 5: Massage Your Scalp
This is important in nourishing your hair follicles which increases the blood flow. This can be done just by massaging your head and can be done when you are showering.
Step 6: Do Not Wash Your Hair Daily
Washing your hair daily can strip the natural oils from your hair which can lead to dry hair which is actually more susceptible to damage. It may seem difficult at first to train your hair, but it will soon get used to being washed every 2 - 3 days. On the in between days, if needed, you can use dry shampoos.
Step 7: Comb Your Hair Properly
This is really important because if done incorrectly, you can cause breakage. Use wide toothed combs as it is less harsh on your hair. When wet, make sure to use a wide toothed comb and if there are tangles, don't yank at them - gently comb them out.
Step 8: Use Heat Protectant Before Using a Hot Tool
Hot tools can cause quite a bit of damage. A heat protectant will protect your hair from some of the damage caused by the heat. If you can, turn down your hot tool when styling.
Step 9: Choose a Gentle Shampoo
Shampoos have harsh chemicals in them that can strip your hair colour and oils, making it dry and brittle. Knowing what is in your shampoo is important as some chemicals do more harm than good.
Step 10: Use a Good Deep Conditioning Treatment
Doing this often can help hydrate your strands and make them stronger.
